Sage Energy Consulting expands team with two new hires, adding expertise in energy system design and data and financial modeling

Shawn Pilney - Sage Senior Project Manager, Implementation

Shawn Pilney is joining their team as a Senior Project Manager, Implementation. Pilney brings experience in the design, construction, and commissioning of renewable energy projects, overseeing 100 renewable energy projects and over 25 years in construction. He joins the team from SB Renewables, and before that Onyx Renewable Partners where he was the Western Project Director. Currently, he’s working with Santa Barbara Unified School District supporting design, construction, and commissioning for solar PV, battery storage, and microgrid resiliency projects at up to 14 District sites. 

Ryan Satterlee - Sage Senior Energy Engineer

Ryan Satterlee - Sage Senior Energy Engineer

Ryan Satterlee is joining as a Senior Energy Engineer. Satterlee brings a decade of experience in energy efficiency and a proven track record in modeling building systems to identify and quantify energy and financial savings opportunities.  He joins the team from Carbon Lighthouse where he was an Energy Modeling Engineer. He is currently working with Milpitas Unified School District assessing plans to move 200 kW of existing parking canopy solar PV and potentially adding an additional 400+ kW of solar PV at Milpitas High School. The work includes analyzing site energy usage, solar PV system design and energy production, anticipated energy and demand savings, tariff options, and estimated annual and lifetime project savings to help the District determine project viability
